Pedal, Pedal, Pedal - this trip is designed for the peddler who likes to be on the move.  If 55 to 70 miles a day is your pace…this trip is for you.  Even at this lofty pace, evenings will be filled with good meals and relaxation.  A hearty breakfast will provide the energy needed for each day’s pedal.  Challenge and charm all in one trip.

Day 1:  Arrive at West Newton for a night’s lodging at Scarsdale Cottage Inn, dine on your own at the Trailside Cafe; the West Newton Bike Shop is available for a last minute go-over on your bike.

Day 2:  (55 miles) West Newton to Confluence - Start your day with breakfast at Scarsdale Cottage Inn…Cheryl will pack your lunch as tonight will find you in the town of Confluence…you will lodge at one of the many guest houses or B&B’s in Confluence…enjoy dinner at the River’s Edge Café.

Day 3:  (60 miles) Confluence to Cumberland – Breakfast will be at Sister’s Cafe or at your B&B; today’s uphill/downhill journey will bring you to my town of Cumberland, on your way stop in the town of Meyersdale for lunch on your own; tonight you lodge at our B&B (The Inn on Decatur) or at The Inn at Walnut Bottom; tonight we will dine at my favorite…Ristorante Ottaviani’s.

Day 4:  (60 miles) Cumberland to Hancock – Breakfast  will be at my B&B; I will pack for you my “Hit The Trails” lunch; lodging tonight will be at the 1828 Trail Inn; dinner at Weaver’s; good home cooking…great pies and other treats.

Day 5:  (48 miles) Hancock to Shepherdstown – Darlene will have breakfast for you and will send you on your way with a picnic lunch; tonight you will lodge at World Class Bavarian Inn overlooking the Potomac River; tonight enjoy dining on your own at one of the many great restaurants in Shepherdstown including The Yellow Brick Bank, The Three Onions, etc.

Day 6:  (70 miles) Shepherdstown to DC – Breakfast at the Bavarian Inn; lunch on your own along the towpath; we highly recommend an early start so that you can stop and visit Harper’s Ferry, just 10 trail miles into your journey; you may get lunch in the railroad town of Brunswick at the very popular Beans in the Belfry; your journey ends in Georgetown; the 0 mile marker is by the Thompson Boat House.
