PEDAL 2DC 4DS

The “PEDAL 2DC 4DS” was formed by a group of parents and other people who have been blessed by someone in their lives with Down syndrome.  The ride will benefit the Down Syndrome Center of Western Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC.  The Down Syndrome Center provides families with information about Down syndrome.  It also provides specialty health care to children, adolescents and adults with Down syndrome.  They work with families to locate community services. The Directors of the Down Syndrome Center work with the Down syndrome Medical Interest Group ( a national and international consortium of professionals)  to investigate medical and developmental challenges in individuals with Down syndrome.

The ride will occur the week of the National Down Syndrome Congress annual convention.  The purpose of the convention is for families and professionals from around the globe to gather together and learn the latest information from experts about Down syndrome.  This year, the convention is in Washington DC.  The “PEDAL 2DC 4DS” is a perfect opportunity to help increase the awareness of people with Down syndrome some of whom will be participating in the ride.
